DEEPIKA Padukone was a picture of radiance herself when she launched a major beauty contest, Fiama Di Wills Beautiful Face 2008 Hunt, in Mumbai on Sept 12 (pic).

The beauty is also the brand ambassador of Fiama Di Wills, a popular line of toiletries.

At the launching, the model-turned-actress, who became an overnight sensation after making a successful debut in last year’s reincarnation movie Om Shanti Om directed by Farah Khan, in which she starred opposite Shah Rukh Khan, said her Bollywood journey so far has been fabulous.

“Being here to launch this event is a wonderful experience for me. I came from Bangalore to Mumbai and this city has given me a wonderful opportunity to take my dreams forward and become an actor,” enthused the 22-year-old who will be seen in Siddharth Anand’s upcoming movieBachna Ae Haseeno alongside her boyfriend, the hot new star Ranbir Kapoor.

Fifteen finalists of the beauty contest will proceed to the Elite Model Look India Hunt 2008 in New Delhi next month. The eventual winner will represent the country at the global Elite competition to be held in China in November.
